Jabe quality chart

At Jabe, we believe that grocery shopping and more generally any kind of service should not require you to wander far from home. For example, you should be able to buy directly from nearby producers. You shouldn't need to compromise on quality, or pay extra because of many intermediaries and transportation.

What makes Jabe different is that we make sure every business we list has the same vision. We're just here to help bridge the gap between you and these local businesses.

On this page you will find the criteria that business must fulfill in order to appear on Jabe.

At least one of the two following criteria is mandatory for a business to appear on Jabe:

Teal-colored circled location pin badge

Locally sourced raw products

Offering locally sourced products stimulates local economy, helps smaller businesses grow and enables you to get first-hand products. Removing intermediaries also helps you reduce your environmental impact.

Blue-colored globe with magnifying glass badge

Locally transformed traceable products

While it's not always possible to source everything locally, businesses can still find their place on Jabe if they offer clear tracability for the raw material/products they use.

The following badges appear when applicable but are not required for businesses to be listed on Jabe:

Brown-colored hands handing out a cardboard box badge

Minimal or recycled packaging

Packaging contributes to a lot of consumer-induced pollution. Businesses that provide as little packaging as needed, if any, or/and recyclable packaging do sport this badge.

Green-colored leaf circled by two counter clockwise curved arrows badge

Recycling waste

We're also putting forward businesses that recycle waste they produce to reduce their environmental impact.
